Letal Solaris
On February 2001, Fabián Sáez (bass) and Richard Alvarez (guitar) joined both together to play doom metal. Little by little, Andrea Ruiz (keyboards), Jorge GarcÃa (vocals), Manuel Cancino (drums) and Adrian (guitars), integrated to the project, which was at that time influenced by bands like Thorr’s Hammer, Celestial Season, etc. Everything had been working well until, by different reasons, we decided to restate the course of the band. After a little time out, we gathered again to go on, but this time Adrian was no more part of the band, because we didn’t want two guitars on it. On the other hand, Oscar Hernández replaced Fabián Sáez, becoming soon and up to now, an important part of the band. Was in those days the band was named Letal Solaris. With those necessary changes already made, we started to play in different clubs, mainly in ValparaÃso, but again we wanted to make some changes, this time in the style of music we’d been playing. We wanted to keep all the dark and heavy, but to add a more modern sound. Therefore, a new change in the lineup was made. Arturo Prado for strictly musical reasons replaced Manuel Cancino, whom had become a very good friend and partner. However, not long time after, different music likes between Arturo and the rest of the band, leaded him to leave us. Was after the going of Arturo that a breakpoint occurred. The arrival on 2002 of Nathan Joy and, a month later, of Valentina, gave a new course to the band, turning it more aggressive and melodic. Those are the features that until now are the seals of the sound of Letal Solaris. Thus, Letal Solaris kept playing and composing, when suddenly thanks to Black Tears single (recorded in May 2001) and almost by chance, we meet Picoroco Records, whom showed himself interested in the production of our music. Immediately we began to work in the improvement of our music and sound, reason why was necessary to stop playing in gigs for a while. In the meantime, Nathan Joy prioritized other things, reason for which we should request him that he left. With a record deal and without a drummer… so in big trouble, the soon arrival of Julio Jeréz was a relief. His more aggressive way of play has been a great contribution to the band. And together with the work of all of us, have leaded Letal Solaris to one step ahead, which is certainly a motivation to keep improving our music everyday. In these days the band is preparing to enter the studios in May next, to record his debut LP “Of Sights And Nightmaresâ€, which is under the seal of Picoroco Records.
